Gov. Peter Obi not sincere over power shift
Governor Peter Obi’s campaign that the next governor of the state must come from Anambra North has been described as a ploy to deceive the electorate into making a wrong choice in the November 16 governorship election. This view is being canvassed by two groups, Odinma Anambra North Initiative and Omambala Welfare Association led by Chief Augustine Anekwe and Comrade Tony Igwenma respectively. They said that if Governor Obi’s intentions were genuine, he should have allowed people from the area to adopt a candidate of their choice.
Reacting to reports in some national dailies by Gov. Obi’s political associates, led by Dr Tim Menakaya that a certain group-Omambala Union will sanction one of the respected Anambra North political leaders, Hon. Ralph Okeke for accepting to be a running mate to Sen. Chris Ngige of APC just because it is the turn of the North, the groups explained that Gov. Obi was just protecting his business interest by planning to hand over Anambra State to a former director of Fidelity bank for the next eight years.
